The moment you enter the Dhaba, you feel the fresh, pleasant and homely ambience. There is a Thali system where you can enjoy all the items meant for that day. It is different from conventional Thali system, in that you yourself can take the items of your choice from the counter, as many times as you want and that too, in unlimited measure. Only limit is your capacity to digest and here Vishnuji ki Rasoi cannot help you, once your belly is full! You can sit on a wooden cot, open to sky or on comfortable chairs and enjoy the food. The food is always kept hot by constantly heating it on the stoves. There are cooks making bhakari right in front of you so that it is ‘ovenfresh’ in true sense.
On your arrival, you are greeted with a welcome drink. In summer, a special roller press is kept which you can operate by yourself to extract fresh juice from sugarcane. For a starter you have Thalipeeth or hot Appe, waiting for you. After this, the main course starts. Nowadays children prefer snack items to normal meals. Dhaba provides these so as not to disappoint them. Keeping in mind the Maharashtrian tradition of eating paan (Betel leaf) after the meals, arrangement is made to keep all the ingredients where one can make his or her own paan as per one’s taste.
An arrangement of a trolley has been made to bring hot bhakari’s to your table so that you do not have to go to the counter every time. The trolley carrying a stove and the cook, runs around all the tables serving you hot bhakari’s , zunakabhakar or Thaalipeeth.
The dhaba is totally eco-friendly. We have employed the concept of ‘zero waste’. A well has been built behind the hotel building. All the waste is collected and dumped into this well. Bio-gas is generated which is used for the cooking.
From time to time various festivals are celebrated here and food items appropriate to the occasion are served. Regional food festivals like Khandeshi, Konkani, Kolhapuri, Saraswat, Gomantakiy , Vaidarbhiy and Marathwada are also arranged by us.
Vishnuji ki Parnakuti is the next big step we have ventured into. We have deviated from the serving practice followed in Vishnuji ki Rasoi. Here you can sit in an airconditioned atmosphere and order any item from the list of variety of items specific to any region of Maharashtra. For breakfast, you can choose from very tasty Maharashtrian specialities like Thaalipeeth, Batatavada, Misalpaav, Ukadpendhi, Chakali, Dhirade, Fodanichi poli, Fodanicha bhaat, Varanfale, Sambarvadi …. and on and on. All these vegetarian items are available in plenty.
At Vishnuji ki Rasoi, we invite our guests on a culinary journey—one that revives the rich gastronomic traditions of Maharashtra, offering the same authentic flavours that generations before us savoured. Food isn’t just about taste; it’s a living testament to history, resilience, and resourcefulness, carrying centuries of tradition from bustling spice markets to royal kitchens.
Maharashtrian cuisine is deeply rooted in heritage and storytelling—from the labour of love behind Puran Poli, symbolizing prosperity, to the bold, fiery essence of Misal Pav, reflecting the warrior spirit of our land or a Saovj speciality dish that weaves together intricate flavours of multiple spices or a bite into the crispy kothimbir vadi to fine a soft and flavourful core and Patodi rassa, a mouthwatering speciality. Every dish speaks of the past, shaped by traditional cooks, artisans, and royalty alike.
The Maratha royal kitchens were centres of nourishment and strategy, where meals were tailored to the seasons—energy-rich feasts in winter, cooling stews in summer, and celebratory spreads during victories. These kitchens birthed Saoji cuisine, a warrior’s meal renowned for its intense spice blends, smoky depth, and undeniable heat, designed to fuel strength and endurance.
Even legends intertwine with food—like the unexpected birth of Sambar during Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s reign, when his chefs deviated from traditional Amti and created a dish that later travelled across regions, evolving with time.
Whether in a royal court or a humble Saoji household, the essence remains unchanged—food is strength, history, and heritage.
At Vishnuji ki Rasoi, we don’t just serve meals; we bring traditions to life, crafting each dish with authenticity, passion, and the flavours of a time-honoured legacy. Come experience true Maharashtrian indulgence, where every bite is a story waiting to be told.
